This song was originally released on an album called 'FEELING DOWN IN DIRTY TOWN'. The album was recorded while living in emergency shelter at a local YMCA here in Ottawa, my home town. I won't go into details, here, as to how and why I came to be homeless, for a time. I did manage, after movving into shelter, to get my PC, a small Behringer mixer, my keyboard, and a microphone. I proceeded to write and record the songs that made up the DIRTY TOWN CD. Earl MacRae, journalist for the Ottawa Sun, got wind of what had been done, along with a couple of others, and came to interview me in my room at the "Y". He did a full page article, entitled 'LOCAL MUSICIAN OPENS EYES TO HOMELESSNESS', basing his story on the fact that I am legally blind. Able to see somewhat, but, yes, legally blind. I don't know that I actually opened anyone's eyes but my own. Nevertheless, the album did get a bit of attention and, actually sold for awhile. As for the video, it was made a few years later, done in my small apartment using nothing more than a simple but decent webcam with a bit of fancy editing (chroma keying) done in Cyberlink's Power Director. Voila, my first music video! Hope you will enjoy this and the other videos to be presented here. |
